Position - Cable Technician / Cable Team Member

Cable Network Operations, Installation and Maintenance

• Perform fibre optic and network cable laying, installation, routing and maintenance.
• Carry out aerial, underground and building-level cable deployment as per site requirements.
• Handle cable pulling, dressing, tagging and proper routing.
• Support new customer installations and network expansion activities.
• Identify and rectify cable faults, damage, cuts and connectivity issues.
• Coordinate with the fibre splicing team for jointing and restoration work.
• Perform cable shifting, rerouting and network modification activities as required.
• Ensure proper cable protection and maintain quality standards during installation.
• Support emergency restoration activities in case of fibre/cable cuts.
• Conduct site surveys and identify suitable cable routes.
• Coordinate with the OPS team, field engineers, NOC and other departments for network-related activities.
• Maintain proper records of cable routes, work completed and materials used.
• Ensure all assigned work is completed within the defined TAT.
• Follow all safety guidelines while working on poles, rooftops, roads and underground routes.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure safe handling of tools and equipment.
• Support network maintenance, preventive maintenance and breakdown restoration activities.
• Ensure adherence to company SOPs, network standards and safety procedures.

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of FTTH, HFC, fibre optic and telecom cable networks.
• Experience in cable laying, pulling, routing and maintenance.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot cable/network faults.
• Knowledge of basic fibre optic and cable installation tools.
• Good teamwork and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in outdoor and field conditions.
• Willingness to attend emergency breakdowns and restoration work when required.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Requirements

• Field-work flexibility.
• Willingness to work in shifts and during emergency restoration activities.
• Valid two-wheeler/driving licence preferred.
• Physically fit for field activities.
• Ability to work at heights, on roads, rooftops and underground routes as required.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned operational area.

Qualification / Experience :

• ITI / Diploma / equivalent technical qualification preferred.
• 1 – 3 Years Experience in Telecom / FTTH / HFC / Cable Network.
• Relevant telecom/network field experience will be an advantage.
